East Gloucester

East Gloucester is often the place people find themselves in the summers.  With Gloucester’s most popular beach, Good Harbor Beach, located here, many find it a perfect place to vacation and the ideal place to live.  With water view locations everywhere there is not an unappealing spot in East Gloucester. The beach is the major attraction but not the only attraction this gem in Gloucester holds.

All year round residents and tourist alike walk the Back Shore of Gloucester located just next to Good Harbor Beach.  This mile and a half road allows you to look out to the ocean during its entire existence.  Many running and walking events take place on the stretch from Good Harbor Beach to the back shore. Even more residents walk the route right before or after storm to watch the massive waves crash along the coast.

If the beach is not quite your scene Rocky Neck Art Colony just may be.  The peninsula of Rocky Neck is a historical and cultural center in Gloucester. There are many art galleries scattered throughout the area as well as numerous small shops and restaurants.  The ability for residents and boat lovers to moor their boats at a restaurant to grab lunch or dinner before they resume their day trip is a luxury only local residents receive.

Lying between the Back Shore and Rocky Neck is Eastern Point and Niles Beach.  Niles Beach is a smaller quieter beach parents bring their children.  This beach leads an exclusive and historic area in Gloucester known as Eastern Point is where historical and luxury homes of Gloucester reside.  Many of the mansions in Eastern Point have histories involved including the Beauport Home which was owned by Andrew A Piatt Junior. The ocean and harbor views are spectacular, and Eastern Point has a break water that separates Gloucester Harbor from the ocean as well as a magnificent Lighthouse on its point.  Other luxuries for the residents include the gated entrance and exclusive Yacht Club located next to the Lighthouse.
